What does Macadam Cargo really offer?

In our workshop, our main activity is building cargo bikes and trailers in chromoly and stainless steel. Solid, durable equipment designed for real-life uses: carrying children, equipment, goods, or simply making everyday travel easier

But we do not stop there

We listen to your needs and ideas. A question about mobility? A rather special project? A need for adaptation or repair? Electrifying your bike? We take the time to talk with you to find the most suitable solution

Our know-how, our experience and the equipment we have let us work in many areas: design, manufacturing, modification, repair or technical help

The goal is simple: to put our skills at the service of useful, lasting projects adapted to each person

To develop our range of bikes and bring in new features, we often work on prototypes

It was great to be able to try this adaptation, but it is still too rudimentary for now to put on our so-called production bikes

Even so, this is how we work on quite a few of the innovations that have reached our bikes, such as the platform of the Savoir fer

Steel from Columbus , specially developed for building bike frames, a very strong alloy that keeps a certain flexibility. It lets bikes keep fine, clean lines, unlike aluminium, which has to be oversized, and it gives the bike a lively feel through a certain springiness, but do not worry, it almost never breaks, unlike aluminium, and it is also easy to re-weld

These tubes therefore follow bike-industry standards, and the advantage is that headset bearings, a bottom bracket or a stem are easy to find. We are absolutely committed to staying with standards to make mechanics’ lives easier

The cabling stays external, again to make mechanics’ lives easier, which greatly simplifies maintenance and repairs. We add some parts in stainless steel, either because it is simpler depending on the shape of the tube, a “rectangular” one for example, or to guarantee our frames a longer life

A mark of quality and longevity that the aluminium bike industry will not be able to surpass

Our workshop, a 40 m² space at 2a Chemin des Ouches in the Concorde district, is shared with the bike mechanics workshop La Bonne Vitesse

In this space, Macadam builds its bikes and La Bonne Vitesse repairs and sells new and second-hand bikes, as well as accessories. You will find a welcoming place with all the advice you need for your soft mobility
